Congratulations to Chad Andes, Terry Childers, Marta Hansard and Linda Ireland on their recent election to the Hi Sky Emmaus Board. We know they will serve our Community well. Additionally, we'd like to welcome Ashley Coco and Joe Willis who will begin service in January filling two vacant board seats.

I left the community meeting Tuesday night “high on Jesus”. His joy has filled my heart. I thanked God that He would even consider using me as a vessel to bring glory to His powerful name. It was during that time of personal worship that these words came into my heart, “let Jesus be born again!”
Mary was a carefully-chosen vessel who God used to be the Mother of Jesus. She had a humble, gentle and quiet spirit, and until this miracle of mothering the Messiah she had no reputation at all. Luke 1 says Mary rejoiced at receiving the honor of being used by God for His purposes.
Each of us has that same God chosen gift within us. We are empowered to allow Jesus to be born again in us; that the life of Christ may flow out of us to others. Through our obedience to God’s will, others will see and come to know Christ as their Lord and Savior. When we are of no reputation Christ fills us with his majesty, glory and honor and His life will flow out of us. As the old hymn says, “others and know and believe.”
So I encourage each of us to rejoice at the honor of being a carefully-chosen vessel of honor to be used by God during this joyous holiday season. May Christ be born again in us!
NEW COMMUNITY LOCATION IN 2012
First Presbyterian Church, Midland, located at 800 W. Texas Ave, has graciously given Hi-Sky permission to use their facility for Babe Chick and Community Meetings during 2012. The Meetings will we held in Lynn Hall. Here’s a little help in finding us if you haven’t been to FPC before.
On the Texas Ave side of the church, park in the parking lot nearest the West Side of the Church. Walking toward the Sanctuary you’ll see a small courtyard. Walk through it and enter the building. Once you are in the building, make a right and you should see Lynn Hall.
On the Illinois Ave side of the church, again park in the west-most parking lot directly across from the main entrance of Midland High. Enter the doors labeled “Family Life Center” and make a left.
We can’t wait to see you all there starting January 24, 2012 and remember if you have a Babe Chick who didn’t get to come to the December meeting, let them know of the change in location!
NOTES ON UPCOMING WALKS
REMEMBER – All pilgrim applications must be turned in one week before the Walk is scheduled to begin.
Men’s Walk 201 – Lay Director Roy Sanders, February 16-19. So far there are no pilgrims signed up for this walk, please get your applications in as soon as possible!
Women’s Walk 202 – Lay Director Lee Bell Ulvestad, March 22-25. With two pilgrims carrying over from WW 200 and one which has come in so far via mail, we have 33 spots left and can’t wait to see who God has planned for this walk.
Remember to sign-up for the prayer vigil through the community database. Candlelight is at 8pm on the Saturday of each walk. Everyone is encouraged to attend and participate in the communion service. Remember how special this moment was for you, let’s make it just as special for the pilgrims of our 2012 walks.
